Painting Stripes on an Accent Wall

A couple of years ago, we bought our daughter's bedroom furniture and bedding from the now defunct Bombay Kids.  The color scheme of the bedding included two shades of pink, black, white, and light green.  We really liked the colors and wanted to paint the walls to bring out those colors.  While I can't take credit for the design, I can take credit for the painting.  We painted all the walls a light pink, the ceiling a light green, and the inside of the closet dark pink.  On the back wall, we painted stripes in four different colors.  The stripes are different widths.

Painting the stripes is very easy.  One stripe was our base color- light pink.  Then I measured, taped and painted one set of colored stripes per night for three nights (black stripes the first night, white stripes the next, etc.).  The key here is to pick a color, tape, paint, and remove the tape all in one sitting.

I recommend something like Frog Tape so that you get nice, clean paint lines with little to no bleeding.

As you can see, the stripes look great.
